Goat Head Expert Tip #2

Those nasty little goat head thorns (that are worse than stepping on Legos in the middle of the night) are not actually goat head seeds – technically.  They are actually seed pods that contain seeds – I’ve heard 7 to 10 seeds on average, and some people say more.

Some people have tried to burn the goat heads with a propane torch.  This doesn’t work too well, unless you completely obliterate them.  If you just char the outsides of the pods, then you basically just ‘cracked the egg’ and made an easier escape for the seeds.
